The Premium Single Thick canvas carries an 18mm deep frame, which is half the depth of the double thick ranges and is designed to be framed rather than hung bare. It is the choice when the finished piece is going into a frame, where a 36mm canvas would sit proud of it.

What it is not for
Mont Marte lists this canvas as suitable for their acrylic and oil paints, and not suitable for poster paint, gouache or watercolour. Those three need an absorbent surface, and a primed canvas is the opposite of that.

Mont Marte white gesso, acrylics and oils, a brush set, and picture varnish to protect the finished surface before framing.
Common questions
What is the difference between single and double thick?
Frame depth. Single thick is 18mm and designed to be framed; double thick is 36mm or 38mm and designed to hang as it is, with no framing needed.
Is the canvas itself thinner?
No, the opposite. This carries 380gsm canvas against 340gsm on the double thick ranges. Only the frame is shallower.
Can I hang it without a frame?
You can, but the shallow edge will look unfinished. The double thick ranges are the ones built for that.

What does delivery cost and how fast is it?
Delivery is free on orders of AED 300 and above. Orders above AED 100 and below AED 300 ship at AED 12, and orders of AED 100 or less at AED 20. Order before 1:00 PM UAE time for next-day delivery anywhere in the UAE, Dubai and all other Emirates alike. We deliver within the UAE only.
Can I collect from the store?
Yes. Pickup is free from Sheikha Noora Tower, 1st Floor, 109, Barsha Heights, Dubai, open Monday to Sunday, 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
How can I pay?
Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash on delivery. All prices include 5% VAT.
What is the returns policy?
Items damaged in transit or with a manufacturing defect can be returned within 7 days of delivery, unused and in original condition. The full policy is on our refund policy page.
